Falicov is Associate Dean for Research in the Arts and the Humanities, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Professor of Film and Media Studies at the University of Kansas, USA, as well as affiliated with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She is the author of The Cinematic Tango: Contemporary Argentine Film (2007).
