L-Asparaginase (Asparaginesaminohydrolase E.C.3.5.1.1) are one of the most significant collection of restorative enzymes accounting about 40% of the global marketable enzymes for therapy. Global requirements of anti leukemic and anti-lymphoma agents are far greater than those of other therapeutic enzymes of which Asparaginase contribute one third. This enzymes has been always in a high demand with shortfall in production from different pharmaceutical companies as the genetic expression of L-Asparginase enzyme production is slow and low as well. As production rate is low, the cost of enzyme is very high and is not available to many of the patients. The microbes are a better source of L-Asparginase, because, they can be cultured easily and extraction and purification of L-Asparginase from them is also convenient, vacillating the large scale production. L-Asparaginase is present in many animal tissues, bacteria, plants, and in the serum of certain rodents, but not in mankind.
