Following the independence of our country, Côte d'Ivoire, the State undertook vast projects in several sectors of activity, particularly in the primary sector, with the aim of boosting its economic development. In this sector, particular emphasis will be placed on developing export products (coffee, cocoa) in forest areas. These exports will bring our country economic growth and development in the forested south compared with the northern zone. This led to disparities between the forest and savannah zones. The government of the day, having noted the inequalities resulting from colonisation and after independence between the northern and southern zones, opted to put in place several development policies for the savannah regions. These policies were implemented in order to reduce the socio-economic inequalities that were causing people to migrate to the southern forest areas. The State will therefore undertake the diversification of agricultural production by taking into account food production with the aim of increasing food production.
