Dr. Danvas Mabeya graduated from Kansas State University in 2011 with a Ph.D in Scoiology He currently teaches Sociology at the same university. He has double Masters degrees in International Relations and Political Science. He has worked with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) as a research intern from 1998 to 2000 at Dadaab.
