Jakob finds himself all alone in the wilderness somewhere east of Jerusalem. He had met Ian Davis just after the Rapture of the Church and Ian led him to the Lord. His brother Justin took the opposite direction and persecuted both Ian and Jakob to the point that he wanted to turn them into the Peacekeepers to get rid of them. They escaped his plan to capture them and ended up crossing the Atlantic on a small sailboat that seemed to be supernaturally energized. While on this trip, Jakob learned that Ian was actually the Apostle John, who has never died and will become one of the Two Witness in Revelation. He became John and Elijah's assistant and stayed with them in a small building in Jerusalem, where they prophesied for forty-two months. During that time John and Elijah teach him much of the Bible and he becomes an accomplished teacher, leading several Jewish Families to the Lord. He became quite attached to one young lady named Sarah and developed a very close relationship with her. His brother, Justin gains favor with Nikola Lukanov, who is termed the Antichrist, and tries several times unsuccessfully to capture Jakob to basically get rid of him, as he is an embarrassment to him. Justin moves quickly up the ranks and soon becomes the liaison between the Unified World Church and the Peacekeepers. Shortly before the midpoint of the Tribulation Period, Lukanov and Justin become possessed with very powerful spirits and now become the Beast and the False Prophet. After defeating the huge army from the east, the Beast and the False Prophet, his brother Justin, came to Jerusalem and vanquished the Two Witnesses, but Jakob was able to escape and flee that area. Since that time, Jakob has been on the run and in hiding. His brother Justin's desire is to eliminate him as Jakob represents the complete opposite of what he has become. It now becomes a contest between the hunter and the hunted.
