Jack Wilson was born in 1923, the eldest son of mill workers. Money was never plentiful and so as a child he knew poverty, but lived surrounded by the love of his family. As a policeman he always wanted the best outcome for the crimes which he became involved with and at the heart of his policing were the principles he had learned in his early life, of respect, truth, honesty and family loyalty.
