This story is dedicated to all the Italian Americans who lived through the forced separation from their land. Forced by poverty that prevailed at that time in Italy. They reacted to the suffering of the moment head-on, becoming with their hard work and commitment a mainstay of America today. It is also dedicated to Leo and Vincent, two Italian American brothers who have my same surname, that during our contacts by e-mail (I've never personally known them), which lasted several years, I was inspired to write this story. Without them 'Italians' would never have been realized.
