Senghor, and several others are brought into the discussion. One of the features that impresses much about the book is the passion and critical mind with which the author approaches the woes of contemporary Africa, and then links those problems to the failure of African political leaders, a failure that the author ultimately weaves within the pan-Africanist debate.

Dr Moussa Traore was born and raised in Burkina Faso, West Africa. He holds a PhD in English Studies from Illinois State University.He specializes in Global Literature and Diaspora Studies.He is currently a Lecturer at the English Department of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. He speaks and writes Jula/Bamanakan, English and French.
