School leavers also benefited by studying and re-enrolling the subjects they failed at formal school. This book is also testimony to the empowerment of rural women, some with as little as few years of primary education, went back to informal school through use of rural libraries. They were able to achieve their life-time dream of not only learning to read and write, but also to achieve academic excellence. Some are now holders of Ordinary Level certificates with good passes. The book also highlights how community based income generating projects have benefited from the relevant literature.
