Liver disorders lead to various pathological changes like fatty liver, increase in ROS or oxidative stress, necrosis of liver cells, hepatitis, steatosis, cholestasis, vascular lesions, and granuloma andveno-occlusive diseases, increase in the level of inflammatory markers, hepatocellular carcinoma which further produce portal hypertension and hepatic failure. Animal models serve as an important tool to identifying the cause of liver injury, pathogenesis. In this project, We highlighted on some chemicals-induced experimental liver diseases. From these using chemicals: Heavy metal , -Carbon tetrachloride , Alcohol, -paracetamol , D-Galactosamine hydrochloride (DGa1N) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). DGa1N and LPS together give us an experimental model of liver hepatitis that much like viral hepatitis in humans from both morphological and functional points of view.
