Creep testing involves considerably longer time of testing periods; maintaining the conditions of testing and data all along during the course of testing poses challenges to the investigators, for which indentation creep testing methodology has been evolved. This test can be conducted in shorter periods, on almost all kinds of materials to probe into the creep behaviour of the materials. As AISI 316L stainless steel is a useful nuclear grade steel, its creep property is investigated in the present work through the indentation test methodology. On the other hand, lead-free solders are gaining popularity in solder applications and solder creep property also is of interest to many investigators. Considering the similarities between these solders and commonly available tin-lead solders, indentation creep test studies were conducted on tin-lead solders of varying compositions and the results are presented. The book may help researchers probing the phenomenon of creep of materials in general, so also faculty members to understand the mechanisms of creep.
