Non-standard forage crops require special care to carry out the silage process. The high moisture and buffering content, together with the low levels of soluble matter and carbohydrates in these forage crops, hinder the desired fermentation process. Disintegrated corn with straw and cob (MDPS) emerges as an alternative to improve the fermentation conditions of silage as well as its nutritional value.
