This book investigate the impact of industrial pollution, represented in air, soil and irrigation water, on the growth, production and physiological activities of the main economic food crops cultivated at south Greater Cairo, Egypt. The book is includes an introduction, study species, study area, materials and methods, results, discussion, summary and list of references. Based on the findings of the present study, the Government at all levels should discourage farmers from cultivating the lands in polluted areas. There is need for regular monitoring of heavy metal loads in our environment particularly in heavily polluted sites. This is to enable Government to be able to provide quick intervention in the event of emerging negative environmental pollution. Some of the plants whose elemental composition reflects that of the soil can be used for environmental monitoring: perspectives of phytoremediation.
