Imagination is a central concept in aesthetics with close ties to issues in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of language. Matthew Kieran is Professor of Philosophy and the Arts at University of Leeds, UK. He is the author Revealing Art (2004), and editor of Media Ethics (1998), both published by Routledge.

Dominic McIver Lopes is Associate Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Distinguished University Scholar and Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is the editor (with Berys Gaut) of The Routledge Companion to Aesthetics.
