This research has been undertaken as a requirement to the partial fulfillment of Master of Science (MSC) in Military studies. However, the researcher has chosen the topic "Ivorian Crisis and its Effect on West African Countries" due to his personnel interest for this subject and also because it's very topical at the moment.Côte d'Ivoire has, for the region, a relatively high per capita income and plays a key role in transit trade for neighboring, landlocked countries. The economy of the country is the largest of all the West African Economic and Monetary Union, constituting 40 percent of the monetary union's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The country is the world's largest exporter of cocoa, and the fourth largest exporter of goods, in general, in sub-Saharan Africa (following South Africa, Nigeria and Angola). The slump in Côte d'Ivoire has some negative effects such as reducing economy flows on Trade, drop in remittances, instability and a great threat to peace in West African Countries. The different drawbacks of this crisis are underlined by this study.
