Energy consumption of humans throughout the world increases year by year. In recent decades, an energy crisis is prominent due to high magnitudes of consumption which is mostly harvested from fossil fuels. Unlike fossil fuels, hydrogen is a sustainable and a worldwide-accepted clean energy carrier as it is source-independent and has a high energy content per mass compared to petroleum. It is widely expected to be the world's next-generation fuel. The book, therefore, proposes design for using solar thermal energy within the hydrogen production by thermochemical cycles technique. Furthermore, the performances of solar parabolic trough technology combined with Copper-Chlorine cycle for hydrogen production are studied. The proposed implementation of this project is in Algeria and similar climatic regions. The analysis should help to create a new industrial and technological energy base to protect fragile ecosystems and to build sustainable economy resilient to climate change, and should be especially useful to professionals in Solar Energy and Hydrogen fields.
