This book is located in the field of human rights education and focuses on determining how the development of the discipline from a human rights education helps the construction of student autonomy. For this purpose, a bibliographic study was carried out, which consisted of the recovery, ordering and analysis of primary and secondary sources that were relevant and reliable. In addition, it provides knowledge and understanding of how autonomy can be worked from the exercise of Human Rights and how this is an important element for the teacher, since it basically favors a healthy coexistence for the learning of children, which allows the solution of classroom problems from the recognition and respect for the dignity of each one of those involved in the educational act. In this sense, the principles of an education in human rights that are related to Freire's ethical-critical approach guide the teacher to start from these principles and take them as guidelines to build a discipline that promotes autonomy in children from the exercise of rights, in order to generate good coexistence.
