Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that affects both men and women, triggering an even more worrying complication: cervical cancer. With this in mind, a prophylactic measure was developed to minimize the significant rates triggered by this virus. The Ministry of Health, through the National Immunization Program (PNI), implemented the vaccination schedule in 2014 with the HPV vaccine. An integrative review conducted from a national and international perspective identified the status of HPV vaccine implementation in other countries in comparison with the national context, revealing that, as in Brazil, vaccination coverage can be influenced by social, economic, and epidemiological determinants, as well as cultural factors.
