Whilst much has been written about Huguenots in the north of the country where Calvinism ultimately failed to gain a substantial permanent foothold, those in the south of France have received scant attention. This book redresses the balance by focusing on the far more resilient Protestant communities in the south, and in particular the Huguenot bastion of Montauban.
