The project entitled "Holistic Development of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Farm Families through Integrated Farming System (IFS) Approach" was implemented by the University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore. The project intended for increased production, productivity, income, employment generation and improved the livelihood security of resource poor farmers. The technical knowledge and door delivery critical inputs free of cost to the farmers helped to use it very effectively and efficiently based on their convenience and requirement. It provides wide range of information on latest developments in IFS through various extension educational activities by the concerned scientists. The project facilitated the resource poor farming community to realize more yield which in turn provided employment and increased their economic returns and livelihood security. It enhanced the income, provided the employment and improved the social status of farming community and resource poor farmers changed their mind set to remain in agriculture, with higher income led to improved standard of living of small and marginal farmers and prevented rural migration.
