But Dirck van Os presents the particular claim upon our attention of being the only one of them who is found in treaty with the navigator; thus leading us to the conviction that he was probably one of the leading spirits of the enterprise, as he was of the negotiation on the part of the Company. He was a man of enlarged views and of a laborious disposition.
