Helmut Friedel ist Direktor des Lenbachhauses in München. Er hat zahlreiche Publikationen herausgegeben. Heinz Mack, geboren 1931, studierte Kunst- und Werkerziehung an der Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. 1957 gründet er mit Otto Piene die ZERO-Bewegung in Düsseldorf. Erste "Lichtreliefs", "Lichtkuben", "Lichtstelen" sowie das so genannte "Sahara-Projekt" entstehen 1958. Im gleichen Jahr nimmt der Künstler an der Documenta II Kassel teil. Ausstellungen von internationalem Rang folgen. 1970 erfolgt die Professur für einen Lehrauftrag in Osaka/Japan. Zahlreiche Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen. Heinz Mack lebt und arbeitet seit 1967 als freischaffender Künstler auf dem Huppertzhof in Mönchengladbach.
