Tobias G. Natter ist ein international geschätzter Fachmann für die Kunst in Wien um 1900. Er war lange Zeit an der Österreichischen Galerie Belvedere in Wien tätig, zuletzt als Chefkurator. Zudem arbeitete er als Gastkurator an der Tate Liverpool, der Neuen Galerie New York, der Hamburger Kunsthalle, der Schirn in Frankfurt am Main und dem Jüdischen Museum Wien. Von 2006 bis 2011 leitete er das Vorarlberger Landesmuseum in Bregenz und war von 2011 bis 2013 Direktor des Wiener Leopold Museums. Im Jahr 2014 gründete er das Unternehmen Natter Fine Arts, das sich auf die Schätzung von Kunstwerken und die Entwicklung von Ausstellungen spezialisiert hat. Bei TASCHEN sind von ihm Gustav Klimt. Sämtliche Gemälde, Kunst für alle. Der Farbholzschnitt in Wien um 1900 und Egon Schiele. Sämtliche Gemälde 1909-1918 erschienen.
