Growth rotations are a reflection of differential growth in anterior and posterior face heights. Growth in posterior face height depends on the vertical components of growth at the middle cranial fossa and at the condyle. It is suggested that growth in anterior face height is greatly influenced by growth of the cervical column and the resulting differential growth of the muscles, fascia and other soft tissues that pass between cranium, mandible, hyoid bone and shoulder girdle. The effects of variations in head posture are superimposed upon these primary determinants. So the aim of this book is to collect, analyze and segregate the various aspects of growth rotations in the literature of orthodontics and present the same in a concise systematic manner.
