All the short story-poems relate to Global Warming, but in this project mainly to the social effects coming from the same connected causes. You will hear two voices in this book, one of them is yours. 'Seeds of Needs' is about how we, as people, of our countries, of our world, as mums and dads are being prevented and held back from achieving the needed changes to save our planet from policies and actions that block any progress towards a more democratic and social care in our world.
This book is about how everybody everywhere, desires and needs social change; so it's about the voice of the 99% of humanity. But to be fair and bring a little balance, we include equal space to the voice of the 1%: the makers and controllers of policies that rule our world.
Nothing except strong directed human emotion, personal and collective, will produce enough energy and impulse to affect and maintain a change in our social and world circumstance - in the time we need it most. This book is about this emotion.
We've been informed by our own scientists that our planet 'speed heats', and that climate change is already under way. We've also been told that unless we have dramatic social change within our societies and turn away from capitalism and its destructive variations, then it will be civilization collapse.
The people in charge of world policies obviously know what's in store. They have seemingly decided on a certain course of action; sadly a world democratic socialism and livable planet is obviously not the choice they made. Instead they have opted for more of the same.
You could say our planet is a school; this is a live math's test. We're failing it. And in our case the school closes down. We have less than a generation to re-sit the test and to not fail so dramatically, so that our kids and theirs may have some form of livable future.
The fire's at the door, but the party's loud.
It seems the controllers of power and policy will not change: they're enjoying the party life too much. They're in charge of the party, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, the security; they're having a ball. And they like to party 24-7-365, they don't want to stop.
The main problem, to repeat, for it needs repeating: time runs out, less than a generation to implement the needed changes. This is it, the fire's at the door, but the party's loud. So, wanna be a Hero in an Age of Change? If so, that would be good; our world needs you and needs you now.
