.. if equations are not your cup of tea, then ignore them, take their results on trust and plough ahead reading the interpretations of the models presented. It will do you good. .... this is an interesting and unconventional contribution. Sections could be read with profit particularly by sedimentologists, structural geologists, metamorphic petrologists and geochemists of all stamps.
