For non-normal industrial processes, traditional PCIs would give misleading results. In this book, process capability analyses (PCAs) along with process capability indices (PCIs) for non-normal processes are examined in detail. Integration of fuzzy set theory into PCAs for non-normal processes is performed in order to overcome infirmity arisen from sharp crisp nature that restricts flexibility. Type-1 and Type-2 fuzzy Pearson-based standard PCIs for non-normal processes using Clements' method are developed, respectively and then applied, analyzed, and compared with their crisp types. The results show that in comparison with the crisp case, developed fuzzy standard PCIs for non-normal processes are more informative, sensitive and flexible to evaluate the process performance of the industrial processes. This book is expected to make significant contributions to both literature and practice and shed light on future researches on PCAs for non-normal processes. In industrial applications, it is expected that practitioners will benefit from this work and academicians will find a basis to further theory building and case study researches.
