This text will present four different biblical ways that a person can battle and even overcome deep depression. In a world where there are so many ups and downs and so much uncertainty, it stands to reason that every individual will at least sometime experience times of deep depression. So the purpose of this text is to describe how some of the saints of God had handled their times of depression. In the pages that follow, the very depressing circumstances of twelve people will be discussed. Two men had had to wait for a very long time for something that each had really wanted. One man had had to face a possibly very angry brother. One woman had had to deal with the depressing circumstances of a very unhappy marriage. One man had had to deal with being mistreated by both family and government. Three men had had to deal with the depression that comes with having been unjustly put in prison. One of them had been completely innocent of all the charges. The other two had been guilty as charged. But their crimes had been totally ridiculous. One woman that will be discussed in this text had had to deal with her depression over having been unable to bear children. One man had had to deal with a king that had wanted him dead and that had even tried to kill him. Three young men which are being treated as one person for the purposes of this text had had to overcome the fear and the depression that are involved with having had a very bad conflict with a very powerful king. One man had had to deal with his very bad decision and the depression that had resulted during a moment of deep fear. One woman had had to deal with the depressing circumstance of having lost her husband. One man had had to deal with the very depressing circumstance of having been totally rejected by almost everyone. Thus, from all of those different situations that had been experienced by some of the saints of God, many of the causes of very deep depression will be discussed. Then, one or more of the four biblical ways for overcoming those moments of deep depression will be discussed for each person or persons. After that, I will share my own experience with very deep depression. To everyone that reads this text, however, it must be pointed out that it is presenting a biblical solution for deep depression rather than a medical solution. THEREFORE, AS A SIMPLE BUT NECESSARY DISCLAIMER, NO INDIVIDUAL CURRENTLY ON MEDICATION FOR DEPRESSION SHOULD CHANGE HIS OR HER PRESCRIPTION OR THE TAKING OF THAT PRESCRIPTION BASED UPON ANYTHING THAT IS SAID IN THIS TEXT. THIS TEXT ONLY SEEKS TO PRESENT METHODS FOR DEALING WITH DEPRESSION THAT ARE BASED UPON THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. IT IS NOT MEANT TO CHANGE OR TO REPLACE THE MEDICATION THAT ANY PERSON IS CURRENTLY TAKING OR WILL BE TAKING IN THE FUTURE. ONLY QUALIFIED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS CAN MAKE THOSE KINDS OF DETERMINATIONS FOR PEOPLE. However, having said that, the four ways that will be presented in this text did work for the twelve people to be discussed and they have worked for countless millions of others through the ages.
