This work contextualises the historical aspects ranging from the emergence to the end of the Brazilian Integralist Action (AIB), together with its ideological successor, the Popular Representation Party (PRP), in 'Grande Erechim', in the north of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. We analyse the spread of integralist ideals at the national level, as well as the particularities of that region. Integralism gained significant social traction in the municipality of Erechim and its surroundings. Thousands of people adhered to that doctrine, making the municipality one of the precursors of the movement in Rio Grande do Sul. The PRP, founded after the extinction of the AIB, did not achieve the same appeal, but also obtained significant support among the local population. We seek to understand this political phenomenon, which was related to the most significant events of the 20th century.
