The real Follymops is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel who lives in a restored 17th century hunting lodge in the south of France. Mini-Follymops, your tour guide in this coloring book, lives in a miniature chateau built by Sausalito artist Suze Perry-Hinkle, inspired by the actual Chateau Bidaine. The images of this dollhouse miniature are full of fantastic details that will delight miniature-lovers, dollhouse enthusiasts, Cavalier King Charles spaniel fans, and artists both young and young-at-heart. The 27 sketches-to-color in this book are made from photographs of the miniature building, and retain some of the original shading and textures. The sketches have the detail that advanced colorers are looking for, with the added advantage of being very forgiving for those who are equally enthusiastic but less skilled. The shading already in the sketches comes through when you use colored pencils, so you can just apply color, or add more shading if you're in the mood. Perfect for low-tech "de-stressing," with a beautiful result from a variety of skill levels. The intricate details of the miniatures come alive in this "Collectors' color edition," which shows a color version alongside each sketch to color. The colored sketches make this a beautiful story book, in addition to being a fun and interactive coloring book. This edition of the book is printed on upgraded paper stock. Page captions show Follymops and her friends around the estate, telling a little bit about the quirky owners as well as indulging mini-Follymops' imagination. The result is an enchanting coloring experience for children and adults alike. We recommend this book for ages 8 and up, but we have found detail-oriented 6 and 7-year-olds enjoying this book when they thought no one was looking. This is a revision of the previously published "Le Chateau Bidaine" (bilingual English/French, also available on Amazon). Some of the sketches here have been simplified for easier coloring, and this story is told through Follymops' eyes. Volume 1 of this series (same title) is less expensive and has black and white pages only, with 39 sketches-to-color and some additional blank pages in the back of the book.
