Electrostatic spraying (ESS) has found applications in many areas, including agriculture, ink-jet printing, thin film coating, nanotechnology, etc. Flow-limited field-injection electrostatic spraying (FFESS) is an advanced and unique ESS technology because it has many advantages over the conventional electrostatic spraying (CESS). FFESS is not only able to generate more stable and reproducible spraying at lower voltages, but also to spray insulating liquids. What is more, FFESS can generate stable and controllable multi-jet spraying, which leads to many new applications. This book will summarize my work on FFESS in both theoretical modeling and application. A theoretical model of the multi-jet FFESS process will be formulated, and a comprehensive model of coulomb fission proposed. The I-V characteristics of FFESS are measured and analyzed. Some engineering applications of FFESS and possible future work will be briefly discussed. This book will be helpful to those who are interested in the theory of ESS, and can help to pave the way to more relevant applications of ESS, including nanotechnology, new energy sources, and others.
