The spread of radical Islam has become a concern for all. Five middle-aged ex-Marines decide to do something about it. This novel, without any political agenda, is an attempt to make Americans more astute and vigilant. Actual figures, facts and documents are used and are noted as such within the storyline. My novel is also a plea to Muslims to curtail radicals from within; religious and cultural wars loom. We are on the precipice of a violent future. The following is a synopsis of my book: After losing his only son in the collapse of the Twin Towers, Paul Thompson became hell-bent on retaliation and didn't give a damn about the consequences. With revenge as his initial motive, 57-year-old Paul enlists help from his ex-Marine buddies and his distraught wife as they conduct in-depth research on radical Islam. Hidden in governmental documents, they uncover disturbing facts on the spread of Islamic ideology. The infidels now believed this violent global phenomenon required drastic measures. They track down another ex-Marine buddy, a wealthy bush pilot flying relief missions out of Uganda into Darfur. The clandestine mission they devise transports them into ravaged Africa, lawless Yemen, and an unstable Middle East. The Five American Infidels are not without inner strife: one, a pragmatist, is reluctant and raises ethical concerns; another has substance abuse issues that may jeopardize the mission. Attempting to acquire illegal weapons, they encounter ruthless arms dealers, tribal leaders, and Arab militias. An attractive lady professor is duped into becoming an accomplice. Assuming false identities and altering their appearance, they set up vulnerable targets. The results of their mission could have monumental consequences. They had planned well.
