This study represents several years work on the image of women and genre images of women. It uses two modes of reflecting on or between the far from clearly definable concepts of gender, femininity or masculinity and their representation in time and space. The first one leads the reader between (scientific) texts analysing different aspects or figures to enable questions on gender to be concretized. The second mode of reflection extends a sensitive thread between art and science. New forms of art and human interaction are experimented with in an original dynamic process.
Diese Studie veranschaulicht die Arbeit mehrerer Jahre uber das Bild und die Genrebilder von Frauen. Sie zeigt, wie die Frau und das Genre erzahlt oder beschrieben werden, welche Mythen oder Allegorien (Eva, Antigone oder Aschenputtel) seit Jahrhunderten in der Kunst, der Literatur und den Medien standig uberarbeitet und umgestellt werden. Zwei Denkansatze leiten den Leser/Zuschauer durch die mehrdeutigen Figuren und Konzepte des Weiblichen oder Mannlichen. Der erste ist wissenschaftlich gangig und textuell, der zweite Ansatz ist visuell, spannt einen sensiblen Faden zwischen Wissenschaft und Kunst und erlaubt, neue menschliche und kunstlerische Formen bzw. Wechselwirkungen auszuprobieren.
Cette etude concretise un travail de plusieurs annees sur l Image et les images du genre. Elle montre comment sont racontes ou decrits la femme et le genre, quels mythes ou allegories (Eve, Antigone ou Cendrillon) sont refondus et transposes en permanence depuis des siecles dans l art, la litterature et les medias. Deux modes de reflexion conduisent le lecteur/spectateur a travers les figures et concepts ambigus de feminin ou masculin, le premier mode usuel scientifique et textuel, le second, visuel, tend un fil sensible entre science et art et permet d experimenter de nouvelles formes et interactions humaines et artistiques."

Monique Jucquois-Delpierre teaches information, culture and media science at the University of Düsseldorf. Doctor of Social Sciences (Information and Communication, University of Louvain Belgium), she took part or lead numerous scientific missions or research projects all over the world among others with the European Community. Member of the «International Dance Council» (CID), she has got various academic diploma, performance and teaching experience in the field of ethnology and dance.
Monique Jucquois-Delpierre lehrt Informations-, Kultur- und Medienwissenschaften an der Universität Düsseldorf. Sie ist Doktorin der Sozialwissenschaften (Information und Kommunikation, Universität Louvain (Belgien), nahm und nimmt an zahlreichen internationalen, wissenschaftlichen Aufgaben und Projekten teil, unter anderem im Rahmen der Europäischen Union. Sie ist Mitglied des Internationalen Tanz-Rats (CID) und erwarb zahlreiche akademische Grade in Völkerkunde und Tanz (Zagreb, Lissabon, Bukarest, usw.). Die Autorin lehrt Tanzen und nimmt an zahlreichen Aufführungen am Theater bzw. im Fernsehen teil.
Monique Jucquois-Delpierre enseigne les sciences de l'information, de la culture et des médias à l'Université de Düsseldorf. Docteur en Sciences Sociales (Information et Communication, Université de Louvain (Belgique), elle prend part à de nombreuses missions et projets scientifiques internationaux entre autres dans le cadre des Communautés Européennes. Membre du Conseil International de la Danse (CID), elle obtint de nombreux diplômes académiques en ethnologie et danse (Zagreb, Lisbonne, Bucarest, etc.), enseigna la danse et participa à de nombreux spectacles au théâtre et à la télévision.
