Introduction: Simple spirometry is a simple, non-invasive examination. Previous studies have highlighted knowledge gaps in family medicine. The aim of this study was to assess their theoretical and practical knowledge.Material and methods: We carried out a descriptive, cross-sectional online questionnaire survey of family medicine residents. Results: 186 residents were included among the 786 who received a questionnaire. The mean age was 27.55 ±1.4 (years). Participants were enrolled respectively: 31% in TCEM1, 31.9% in TCEM2 and 25.7% in TCEM3. 57.8% of participants had good theoretical knowledge. Factors favoring good theoretical knowledge were the presence of a respiratory history, level of residency and passage through the pneumology department. Practical knowledge, on the other hand, was inadequate in all respects. Conclusion This study highlights the shortcomings in theoretical and practical knowledge of spirometry, as well as areas for improvement.
