Cadmium selenide (CdSe) is an attractive compound because of its small size (quantum dots, QDs) and its high absorbance in the visible spectrum, originating from quantum confinement effects and large surface to volume ratio. CdSe has been implemented in a wide range of applications in nano-devices including solar cells, light-emitting diodes, gas sensors, photocatalysis, and optical sensors. In recent years, PAA film with highly ordered pores structure has drawn considerable attention, because of its low cost and relative ease of fabrication, making it a suitable template for depositing various nanomaterials with different sizes and shapes. Moreover, the low background of uorescence of this type of support leads to a greater sensitivity of detection. The combination of a microporous alumina layer and CdSe QDs might be used in applications such as drug discovery, cancer diagnosis and the establishment of new medical treatment approaches by identifying binding molecules. The aim of this research is to investigate the effects of pores diameters enlargement of PAA layer and the air-annealing temperature on the morphological, structural and optical properties of CdSe/PAA microstructure.
