Have you ever been called WEIRD, INSANE or an ATTENTION SEEKER. Exceptionally Weird, takes you on a journey of a 13 year old girls as she overcomes bullying and learns to embrace her uniqueness. Exceptionally Weird" Review: By Author Kei McKenz of "Just My Thoughts" This book was a GREAT read shining light on issues youth and young adults today face and addressing them head on. Issues like: bullying, self-harm, low self-esteem, peer pressure, drugs, depression, etc. Rae's vulnerability through Ava's stories and her own personal stories are real and relatable to young girl's everywhere who are different, unique, special & introverted. To girl's who don't fit in & conform to what people consider "normal." As I read the pages, it provoked many different emotions. I reflected on my 14 year old self & how I wished I had this book to read back then. It could have saved me from a lot just knowing that I was not alone. That is, I believe, the purpose of this book...to get young ladies from around the world to be saved. Saved from the opinions of others and even saved from THEMSELVES. It is a book to help guide young ladies through the pressures of life, self-acceptance and how to triumph over every circumstance and situation. She even provides space for the reader to reflect and take notes for self-discovery and to provoke change in the reader. I definitely recommend this book to young women everywhere.
