In this age of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Librarians play the role of information selectors, organizers and teachers. The goal of Reference Services is to provide relevant information to end users. The library should make available user aids in appropriate formats to assist the users to recognize items in the collection which have relevance to their needs. The libraries should develop reference & information services consistent keeping in with the goals of the institution. The libraries should participate actively in consortia and networks to attain access to information sources and services which are not available in own holdings. The Reference librarian should conduct orientations related to the best usage of reference sources in line with the users' needs. The libraries should continuously make the evaluation of their services which are offered to ensure that the services are meeting organization's objectives. The traditional reference services are still being provided in Libraries but Reference Librarians must avail all the latest web technologies to better serve Library's users to enhance the functionality of Reference Section.
