Jean Laplanche is an incisive and important of contemporary psychoanalytic theorists. In spite of the influence of his work over the last 30 years, until recently little of his work has been available in English. This text presents in English many of Laplanche's key essays and also provides an overview of his work. It makes available Laplanche's work on the key psychoanalytic themes of: association, seduction, persecution, revelation, masochism, transference and mourning.
