Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) routing protocol has common characteristic features of all popular multi-path routing algorithms in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) and is also widely been used in highly dynamic ad hoc networks because of its generic feature. Reliable data transmission has been an emerging issue in AOMDV routing protocol since the nodes are prone to link failures and route breaks in highly dynamic ad hoc networks due to the selection of multiple routes between any source and destination pair based on only minimal hop count. A novel node disjoint multipath routing protocol called Energy Efficient Bandwidth Aware AOMDV (EE-BWA-AOMDV) routing protocol is proposed for eliminating such problems. The EE-BWA-AOMDV is the extension of a well known AOMDV routing protocol. The EE-BWA-AOMDV select the multiple paths between any source and destination pair for data transmission using three metrics such as minimal nodal residual energy, minimal bandwidth of participating links along the path and hop count. The EE-BWA-AOMDV outperforms better than the AOMDV, MMRE-AOMDV, NEE-AOMDV and BWA-AOMDV.
