Outwardly he appeared to be a good citizen, but inwardly he knew he was a sinner and in need of Savior. At the age of 72, the Lord had mercy on Richard and rescued him. After becoming a Christian, the Lord would put Richard through one of the most painful trials of his life. Lupita, his wife, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. As she slipped into senility, Richard struggled to show the love of Christ to his dying wife.
