Epics are rich in lists. This volume has its own lists to offer, starting with a rich crop of new names it brings into the epic field but it also takes a fresh look at work by authors more readily or even traditionally associated with the epic genre. The new readings of -classic- epic literature included here added to the analyses of new or newly found epic voices jointly and severally attempt to propose an analytical and extensional redefinition of (the) epic."
