This work is strongly recommended to those who are working to find out the best possible amount and place of Fluorescent Whitening Agents (FWA) to be used in pigment coating for the enhancement of paper sheet appearance. It concludes that the brightness and whiteness can be improved by using the higher amount of FWA in the top coating rather than in the first coating. Furthermore, the colouring shades improve the brightness and whiteness by the addition in both the substrates and the coating layer as well.
