The parasitosis caused by the mite Varroa destructor (Anderson & Trueman, 2000), is currently considered to be one of the major economic losses in beekeeping worldwide. The aim of this work was to evaluate the efficacy of Flumethrin for the control of V. destructor mite in Apis mellifera L. hives in post-harvest. The hypothesis proposed was a decrease in the efficacy of the acaricide drug studied with respect to that stated by the manufacturing laboratory. The trial was carried out from March to July 2016 in the experimental didactic apiary of the Course of Animal Production I of the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences of the National University of La Plata, located in the city of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. A total of 15 Langstroth type hives of A. mellifera bees naturally infested by the V. destructor mite were used.
