The first part of this paper discusses the scientific fundamentals of human blood. It begins with a general overview of blood. The text then goes on to provide more detailed information on the most important facts about the composition of blood, blood formation, the functions of blood, blood plasma and the effects of sport on blood. The second part of the paper, which forms the main section, examines the blood diseases leukaemia and thrombocytopenia in more detail. The names of these diseases and the areas affected by them are explained. The blood platelets involved in the disease are described in more detail, along with their functions in the human bloodstream, their proportions in the blood, their shape and where they are produced. In addition, the different types of diseases, diagnosis and treatment options for each blood disease are listed. The last and important point in the forms of therapy was sport as a form of healing. Here, it was investigated whether physical activity leads to an improvement in the disease, which forms of sport may be practised and which should be avoided.
