The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the effectiveness of Human Resource (HR) professionals and the organizational factors (namely, leadership, organizational support and reward system), focusing on the HR professionals in Multimedia University (MMU) based in Malaysia. MMU is an IT-based private university with state of the art technology. It is the front runner to produce graduates (or knowledge workers) for the so-called knowledge economy. It would be assumed MMU would be having sophisticated systems (both humans and technology) to run the institution. Human resource management (HRM) in MMU would be expected to be far advanced when compared to the other universities in Malaysia. The question would be: Is that so? The approach taken was together data from the human resource professionals (the implementer) and the knowledge workers(i.e. the lecturers) in MMU.
