This book presents experimental data on LL, PL, PI, compaction characteristics, stress-strain characteristics and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of a lateritic soilstabilized with varying amounts of cement and GGBS. Cement and GGBS were independently added to the lateritic soil up to 20% in increments of 5%. LL and PI respectively decreased by 23.5% and 49.5% when cement content increased from 0% to 20%. In a similar manner, when GGBS content increased from 0% to 20%, LL and PI respectively decreased by 16% and 30%. Further, MDD increased respectively by 11% and 5% when cement content and GGBS content increased from 0% to 20%. The unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of the cement-soil blends and the GGBS-soil blends increased with increasing additive content. Moreover, for a given additive content, UCS increased significantly with increasing curing period.Chemical stabilization of soils is an effective method of improving their engineering behavior. Through chemical stabilization, the shear strength improves, bearing capacity increases and settlements decrease.
