Our findings suggest that significant differences in growth and production traits among genotypes are obvious. Hybrid HM-4 pertains more desirable characters and is suitable for cultivation of winter baby corn under conditions of eastern Uttar Pradesh, India. This study confirms the improvement in yield attributes, yield, N content and uptake of the baby corn achieved due to an imperative nitrogen management irrespective of the genotypes. We propose a new nitrogen management schedule including combined approach of soil application at critical growth stages of crop followed by foliar supplementation at harvest stage. Among the soil application treatments scheduling, half of the RDN as B followed by rest in 2 equal splits at critical growth stages performed best. However, application of small quantity of RDN as urea foliar spray close to sink further augmented the overall effect and enhanced the production traits, productivity, nitrogen and protein content and profitability of the winter baby corn. Economic gain of baby corn due to cultivars and split nitrogen application.
