It integrates ecological risk assessment (ERA) and economic analysis to improve environmental management in a diversity of watersheds. It includes different points of view concerning the extent to which each study achieves an ideal framework for the integration of ERA and economic analysis. The practical focus on real-world decisions includes the effects of urban development, mining, and water withdrawal for agriculture and also evaluates the socioeconomic and institutional dimensions of decision making.
