The text exposes the work of high school students and teachers on environmental issues in their neighborhood. Since May 2025, the students of 5th grade D of the Self-managed Public School No. 10 "Maestro Escultor Vicente Lucero" of Villa Mercedes, San Luis, Argentina, carried out the project "Voces Verdes" (Green Voices). With the support of their teachers, they carry out an initiative that combines art, science and technology to make visible and improve the environmental problems of the neighborhood. The most profound lesson they take away is that knowledge does not end in the classroom, but comes to life when it is used to understand, intervene and improve the reality around them and that the school is not a world apart, but a key player in the community, and that they have the power and responsibility to be agents of change to build a more sustainable present and future. The experience can be replicated and substantially improved.
