John Fox works as a lecturer in clinical psychology in the Division of Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester where he is involved in training the next generation of Clinical Psychologists, and as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Eating Disorders Clinic at Cheadle Royal Hospital. He has published extensively on eating disorders, with a particular research interest in emotional factors and eating disorders.

Kenneth Goss is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of Coventry Eating Disorders Service in the UK.Dr. Goss has more than 20 years  experience working with people with eating difficulties. He has supervised and trained numerous trainee Clinical Psychologists in the field of eating disorders.

One of the more complex and challenging groups to engage in the clinical process are patients with eating–related difficulties. Recent NICE guidelines recommend a focus on psychological approaches and therapies as treatment for this difficult to engage patient group. Eating and its Disorders presents an overview of our most current knowledge relating to the assessment, treatment, and future research directions of the study of eating–related disorders. A host of national and international experts working in the field share their insights, as well as some of the potential dilemmas in working with these client groups.

Clinicians and health–care professionals will gain important insights into the latest evidence–based approaches to assessment and formulation of eating and its disorders, as well as evidence–based psychological models that attempt to account for the complexities of real clinical practice. Also addressed are the challenges of working with individuals that have enduring eating problems, neuropsychological treatments of eating disorders, co–morbid problems such as self–harming, and personality based difficulties. With its cutting edge insights into the newest models and theories in the field, Eating and its Disorders is an invaluable guide to the processes, interventions, challenges, and organizational approaches to eating–related problems and difficulties.
